Who I Am
Welcome to the blog! My name is Marcos Felipe. I am a Master’s Computer Information Science student at Umass Dartmouth, having started the program in Fall 2021. I plan to complete this degree by Spring 2023 and I’m currently looking for a CS internship for Summer 2022 in southcoast or Boston, MA.
I completed my B.S. in Computer Science with a minor in Mathematics at Worcester State University, starting in Fall 2018 till Spring 2021. I’m proud to have graduated Summa Cum Laude. My concentration was in Software Development and my CS interests include software development and engineering, bioinformatics, AI, quantum computing, and much more, as I am still exploring.
I live in southcoast Massachusetts and am 21 years old. In my current fall semester, I am taking three CS classes:
- Advanced Bioinformatics
- Artificial Intelligence
- Theoretical Computer Science
So far, I have taken:
- Intro to Programming
- Computer Networking & Security
- Data Structures
- Database Design & Applications
- Discrete Structure I & II
- Unix Systems Programming
- Algorithm Analysis
- Software Construction, Design, & Architecture
- Software Process Management
- Cloud, Parallel, & Distributed Computing
- Software Quality Assurance & Testing
As well as classes for my Mathematics minor, most notably my Mathematical Modeling class which I took in tandem with an independent study in which I designed and studied a model of the spread of COVID-19.
I am familiar/skilled in:
Soon, I hope to become familiar and then proficient in Python as well. My next goal after a Master’s Degree would be to find a job in software development/engineering in either Boston or New York City where I can be active in my contribution to a team.
